Lacatlis Heritage Dairy, part of the Lactalis family of companies, is currently hiring a Quality Control Lab Technician based in Tulare.


As Quality lab technician, the role will carry out responsibilities such as but not limited to performing a support function with minimum supervision and providing quality results in a timely fashion. This position supports LHD Tulare's mission of providing specialized laboratory services to ensure that LHD products are safe, satisfy all applicable regulatory requirements and meet the quality expectations of our customers and consumers. This position performs and documents routine tasks related to sample processing and assays using written operating procedures, standard laboratory methods, and/or basic laboratory techniques, functions and equipment. Additionally, the Quality lab technician will collaborate with Quality and production departments to align duties with the company's goals and values.


 From your EXPERTISE to ours


Key responsibilities for this position include:



Provide support to the laboratory department by performing and/or coordinating a variety of Laboratory processes. 

Prepares samples for general analytical testing through data entry, weighing and physical homogenization. 

Preps and performs routine to more complex analyses per LHD methods.  

Reads and records results of analyses, making sure to keep batch numbers matched with correct samples. Accurately and neatly complete analytical testing documents and enter data into SAP. 

Identify and effectively communicate any out-of-specification analytical test results. Follow established notification protocol. 

Exceptional organizational skills to maintain all QC records and filing. 

Review analytical testing results and escalate out of spec results to leadership team via email 

Creates COAs for materials to be loaded out onto tankers 

Operates basic laboratory equipment such as balances, pH meter, titrators, etc. 

Prepares (and assures accuracy of) standards, reagents, etc. needed for analysis. 

Functions as primary data generator, records and calculate data. 

Performs routine lab and department maintenance to keep the area clean and orderly. 

Carries out assignments in a timely, diligent, and safe manner and performs work in accordance with LHD SOPs. 

Assures adherence to laboratory safety requirements.  

Performs other duties as assigned. 

Aseptically collects raw materials, in process materials, and finished good samples for microbiological testing.  

Provide assurance of quality and support of quality processes for the Laboratory. 


Document QA data and report to lead or management

Assure equipment is maintained in reliable working order and make repairs or modifications within the capability of the Technician or request repairs. 

Processes/Methods 


Identify and resolve process problems. 

Assist in review and provide proper documentation for processes or methods as experience allows. 


Training  

Attend internal and external training programs as assigned by the laboratory manager. 

On-the-job instruction under direct supervision of the laboratory manager. 

Training other associates as experience and job needs dictation.


8-hour shift : 6:00pm-2:30am (Tuesday-Thursday) and 10:00pm-6:30am (Friday-Saturday)

Education

High school's diploma is required.

A major in Food science, microbiology is a plus.


Experience

2+ years Dairy Quality lab technician experience is recommended.

Certifications and specific knowledge


The following certifications are preferred for this role: PCQI, HACCP.

Understanding of SAP system, Microsoft office (high emphasis in excel, are preferred.
