Job Summary

The Quality Control Specialist is responsible for reviewing valuation products for accuracy, completeness, compliance, and overall quality before delivery to clients. This role reports to the Vice President of Quality Control and supports valuation review work across the United States and its territories. This is a great fit for someone with real estate valuation or appraisal management company experience who enjoys focused, independent work with limited day-to-day interaction, clear expectations, and measurable results. The ideal candidate has strong self-discipline, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to stay productive while reviewing complex valuation assignments.

What You’ll Do

As a Quality Control Specialist, you will help ensure Valligent’s valuation products meet internal standards, client requirements, GSE guidelines, and applicable appraisal standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Review incoming valuation products for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and quality
  • Read and evaluate valuation reports to confirm they meet USPAP, GSE, lender, and client requirements
  • Review property characteristics, photos, aerial imagery, street-view imagery, and other available data
  • Identify adverse property, market, location, or report factors that may require additional review or clarification
  • Understand and follow client-specific requirements, GSE guidelines, and internal quality control procedures
  • Review UCDP and EAD Submission Summary Reports, including warnings, indicators, and required corrections
  • Request conditions or revisions from appraisers in a professional, clear, and accurate manner
  • Escalate complex, sensitive, or guideline-driven issues to the appropriate team member or manager
  • Manage multiple assignments while maintaining strong turn times and quality standards
  • Work independently with a strong sense of urgency and accountability

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who is analytical, detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. The right person enjoys reviewing reports, identifying issues, solving problems, and producing accurate work with limited supervision.

Qualified candidates should have:

  • Appraisal management company experience
  • Strong understanding of residential valuation reports, alternative valuations, and appraisal review concepts
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify inconsistencies, missing information, and quality concerns
  • Strong written communication skills, especially when requesting corrections or clarifications
  • Good verbal communication skills when escalation or collaboration is needed
  • Ability to understand and apply USPAP, lender, client, and GSE requirements
  • Ability to review complex assignments and property situations
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong self-discipline and motivation to meet production and quality goals
  • Ability to multitask in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment
  • Willingness to receive feedback and training to continue improving accuracy, speed, and independence
  • Comfort using computers, valuation platforms, client portals, and productivity tools

Preferred Experience

The following experience is helpful but not required:

  • Current or previous appraisal license
  • Prior appraisal review or valuation quality control experience
  • Experience reviewing UCDP, EAD, or Submission Summary Report findings
  • Experience working with appraisal management company workflows
  • Familiarity with residential appraisal forms, condition ratings, quality ratings, comparables, adjustments, and report reconciliation

Why Join Valligent?

This role offers the opportunity to use your valuation knowledge in a focused quality control position without the constant client-facing demands of many real estate or appraisal roles. You will be part of a team that values accuracy, consistency, accountability, and strong production performance.

If you have a sharp eye for detail, understand valuation reports, and enjoy independent work where quality and results matter, we would like to hear from you.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for at least 50% of the time
  • Regularly operates a computer and other office productivity equipment, such as a calculator, printer, and related technology
