The Quality Engineer will play a pivotal role in building a U.S.-based Quality function for Jenbacher manufacturing. This position is responsible for establishing robust measurement, testing, and inspection processes; defining operational quality standards; and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The role combines hands-on technical expertise with strong leadership, ensuring the team is equipped with modern tools, clear expectations, and bestinclass quality practices. The Quality Engineer will oversee complaints and nonconformities, drive errormanagement processes, and collaborate closely with global Engineering, Supplier Quality, and accredited testing partners to maintain harmonized standards. Success in this role requires a strong sense of ownership, excellent communication skills, and the ability to develop and inspire a high-performing technical team.

Position Responsibilities

  • Establish robust measurement and testing processes, including the setup of new workflows, tools, and quality standards for the new team.
  • Define, implement, and continuously refine operational quality procedures, driving best practices from day one.
  • Be connected to the sister plant in Jenbach, try to learn from the Quality people, systems and processes there and implement at Waukesha.
  •  Manage customer complaints, non-conformities, and the overall error-management process to ensure fast and effective resolution.
  • Introduce new inspection methods, measurement technologies, and digital tools, ensuring the team is equipped with state-of-the-art capabilities.
  •  Provide training on quality principles, measurement techniques, EHS requirements, and operational guidelines.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs for the newly established U.S. function, ensuring alignment with global standards and business objectives.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and foster a culture of quality, accountability, and innovation.
  • Collaborate closely with global Engineering, Supplier Quality Engineering, and accredited testing organizations to ensure harmonized standards across regions.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field.
  • 5+ years’ experience in measurement and testing technology, mechanical engineering, service, or mechanical manufacturing
  • Strong sense of ownership, high quality awareness, and an ability to engage, motivate, and develop people.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to bridge cultural and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% for training at site in Jenbach to learn the Quality Systems & Processes, as well as build relationships with teammates.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and ability to learn Quality tools (Q-DAS or Oracle NC-Management)

Additional Details:

  • Location: Waukesha, WI
  • Work Schedule: Onsite 5 days per week (Monday through Friday)
  • Travel: Approximately 10% travel required, including an initial extended trip to Jenbach, Austria for training on Quality systems and processes and to build working relationships with the Jenbach Quality team.
  • Visa Sponsorship: This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship now or in the foreseeable future.
