Summary
The Quality Engineer supports the development, implementation, and maintenance of management system standards and quality processes across the operation. This role works closely with the Quality Manager and cross-functional teams to ensure compliance, drive continuous improvement, and support customer and supplier quality requirements.
Essential Functions

- Develop and maintain effective test methods, inspection procedures, and validation processes.
- Act as the main Quality Assurance contact for department supervisors, handling resolution, loss reporting, and continuous improvement.
- Design and implement control, improvement, and testing methods for processes.
- Promote and enforce quality standards, inspection procedures, test methods, and reporting.
- Collaborate with supplier and customer quality representatives to address issues and ensure corrective and preventive actions are properly implemented and verified.
- Keep test equipment calibrated to traceable standards accepted in the automotive industry.
- Support and lead new product launches, coordinating with tooling vendors, communicating with customers, and managing project activities from quoting to SORP.
- Prepare and maintain APQP documentation such as control plans, process flows, and PFMEA activities.
- Submit PPAP documentation using customer formats and software.
- Read blueprints and specifications, creating related PPAP documentation to ensure compliance with specifications, standard processes, and manufacturing standards.
- Investigate causes of scrap and work to eliminate these defects.
- Collaborate with Operations to lead associates in managing systems standards.
- Monitor tooling and assembly equipment, ensuring calibration and process checkpoints meet operational tolerances.
- Audit management systems to ensure compliance with procedures and maintain IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 certifications.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
- Participate in all TVS SCS quality and excellence initiatives.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s in Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain or related technical field; or equivalent in experience, training and certifications.
- 5+ years of experience in a supply chain or manufacturing environment.
- APQP Core Tool Knowledge: Control Plans; PFMEA; Process Flow; PPAP; Gage Control & MSA.
- Fluent in the use of a variety of problem-solving tools and techniques (A3 / 8D; 5-Why; Cause & Effects Analysis; PDCA; DMAIC; etc.).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.
- Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control as well as Process Capability and Control.
- Experience with management systems; capable of internal audits; supplier audits; and management of supplier corrective actions.
- ASQ CQE, QMS Internal Auditor, or Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification preferred.
Travel

Work Environment
This job is performed in a busy warehouse environment with high forklift traffic. Warehouses are subject to seasonal temperatures. Steel-toed shoes, safety glasses and vests may be required as personal protective equipment (PPE). Time split between the office and production/warehouse environments.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Full-Time, Exempt. Schedule flexibility for extended or unplanned work hours is required.
