Description
The Quality Operator is responsible for performing quality inspections and process verifications throughout the solar panel manufacturing process. This role ensures that photovoltaic modules meet established quality standards and production specifications. The Quality Operator will perform in-line inspections, verify process parameters, record data, and communicate quality issues to production and engineering teams. The position requires attention to detail, accuracy in data entry, and adherence to quality procedures to support the production of high-performance solar modules.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conducts in-process inspections at designated solar production inspection stations (e.g., Pre and Post lamination, Visual Inspections, Final Testing).
- Inspects solar modules visually and through automated inspection systems to verify compliance with specifications and quality standards.
- Records and maintains accurate quality data, inspection results, and defect tracking.
- Identifies, documents, and communicates non-conformances or defects to Production and Quality leadership in a timely manner.
- Monitors production processes and provide immediate feedback to ensure process parameters remain within defined quality limits.
- Collaborates with production operators and maintenance to prevent quality deviations and maintain process control.
- Participates in containment, rework, and root cause analysis activities as directed by the Quality Supervisor.
- Adheres to company safety, environmental, and quality policies, including proper use of PPE and handling of materials.
- Communicates effectively with incoming and outgoing shifts to ensure accurate transfer of quality-related information.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of inspection stations and equipment.
- Performs other related duties and quality assignments as needed to support production and certification goals.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; previous experience in manufacturing or quality inspection is a plus.
- Basic understanding of quality control concepts and inspection documentation.
- Comfortable using computers, tablets, and data entry systems to record inspection results.
- Ability to read and interpret basic work instructions, drawings, and visual standards.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in English for reading, writing, and verbal communication.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work in manufacturing environment, including standing and walking for up to 12 hours per day.
- Ability to lift, push or pull up to 30 lbs.
- Ability to stoop, kneel, bend on occasional basis
- Ability to reach above shoulder and below waist frequently
- Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects repetitively on a frequent basis
- 20/40 vision in each eye (with or without correction) and the ability to distinguish between red, yellow, and green is required
