Job Overview 
This senior technical capacity supports IFT’s Quality and Environmental Management Systems by conducting advanced 
inspections, participating in audits, assisting with corrective actions, and helping drive continuous improvement across 
production and support processes. It also provides technical leadership through mentoring junior technicians, 
maintaining accurate quality records, and exercising authority over nonconforming material while using defined Success 
Factors to monitor performance. The position reports to the Quality Manager.  


Responsibilities 
• Support and maintain the Quality and Environmental Management Systems to ensure ongoing compliance with 
ISO 9001, AS9100, IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and Nadcap requirements. 
• Assist in developing and implementing preventive and predictive methods that reduce waste, minimize 
variation, and improve process performance across the organization. 
• Perform advanced inspection and verification tasks such as dimensional inspection, blueprint interpretation, and 
evaluation of customer specifications. 
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to Quality Technician I and II personnel to promote accuracy, 
consistency, and procedural compliance. 
• Exercise authority to reject nonconforming materials and initiate containment actions to prevent escape of 
defective product. 
• Support root cause analysis and corrective & preventive action processes using structured problem-solving tools 
(e.g., 5-Why, Fishbone). 
• Participate in investigations related to internal nonconformances, customer complaints, RMAs, and process 
deviations, and assist in identifying and addressing recurring issues. 
• Maintain accurate quality records, including inspection documentation, nonconformance reports, and corrective 
action files. 
• Track progress against defined Success Factors, report status in team meetings, and proactively identify resource 
needs or barriers to achieving quality objectives. 
• Assist in creating PPAP’s for specific assigned customers 
• 75% on Floor Presence 
• Responsible for maintaining a clean, organized work area, and the quality department area generally, in 
accordance with company programs, policies, and procedures.   
• Performs other duties as assigned 


Qualifications 
• Two- or four-year technical degree preferred; equivalent experience or internal training may be considered. 
• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing quality or inspection roles. 
• Experience with Quality Systems, gage calibration, dimensional inspection, blueprint interpretation, and first 
article inspections. 
• Participation in root cause analysis and corrective action activities. 
• Working knowledge of GD&T and customer specification requirements (preferred). 
• Experience supporting internal, customer, or regulatory audits (preferred). 
• Knowledge of metal finishing or chemical processing environments (a plus). 

Physical Requirements 
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer 
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.   
• Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machinery or equipment, and inspect parts

  • Individuals who inspect material for final acceptance must have:  
    • Color Vision Eye Examination annually per IFT vision requirements  
    • Near-Vision Eye Examination annually per IFT vision requirements 
  • The Individual(s) must meet the minimum standards in one eye with or without glasses/contacts  


Travel 
Local and overnight travel may be required occasionally
