Role Purpose

Focus on managing payments, costs and financial risks throughout the project lifecycle. Prepare detailed cost estimates, conduct feasibility studies, and develop budgets to ensure financial viability.

During construction, the QS monitors expenses, evaluates completed work, and manages contractual claims to keep the project within budget. They also assess variations in scope and provide financial advice to stakeholders, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations. 

Key Accountabilities

  • Prepare and submit the project advance payment and interim payments
  • Control submission of project Work inspection request (WIR) complying with project BOQ.
  • Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for infrastructure projects, including materials, labor, and overhead costs.
  • Conduct feasibility studies to assess the financial viability of projects, providing insights on cost implications and potential returns.
  • Administer contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions, and manage contractual claims or disputes that arise during the project.
  • Monitor project expenditures, track costs against budgets, and identify variances to ensure that the project remains within financial constraints.
  • Conduct regular valuations of completed work to ensure timely payments to contractors and assess the financial status of the project.
  • Evaluate variations in project scope and assess their financial implications, providing recommendations for adjustments to the budget.
  • Maintain comprehensive records and documentation of all cost-related activities, including reports on project costs, forecasts, and financial performance.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, architecture, or other related field.
  • 7+ years related quality surveyor experience preferably Abu Dhabi experience in land and roads, marine and infrastructure projects.
  • Strong English language communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Able to undertake complex and repetitive calculations.
  • High work productivity with the highest quality
  • Able to work under pressure

Able to operate effectively in a team.
