The Opportunity:
The R&D Gummy Formulator is responsible for developing new formulas or improving current formulas to meet customer expectations with good efficiency and process reliability through cross-functional partnerships.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead or assist with the development of formulas for the generation of quotes for new and existing business opportunities.
- Develop new products through benchtops, pilots and scale-up runs collaborating with gummy technician, R&D operation specialist, and process engineer.
- Spearhead formulation revisions based on customer's needs, process improvement, regulatory and quality requirement, and alternative raw material supplier etc. and validate the revision through benchtop, pilot or scale-up runs.
- Work with gummy operations and quality teams closely to review and approve deviations, such as the "process modification with impact" statement.
- Check and approve documents such as Product Label Information (PLI), Nutritional Information and Bulk Specification Forms, create and revise Manufacturing Directions and formulation translation documents, etc.
- Interface and collaborate with internal departments including purchasing, manufacturing, inventory control, quality assurance/quality control, sales and customer service as required.
- Monitor the scale-up and production runs and help troubleshoot issues as needed; summarize and share the insights with the cross-functional teams.
- Adhere to company guidelines, including cGMPs, SOPs and safety procedures.
What You'll Bring:
- B.A./B.S degree and 3 years of experience in Product Development/Manufacturing Technology in the nutraceutical or food industry.
- Experience in the development of dietary supplement products or other consumer goods products is required and experience in gummy formulation or manufacturing is preferred.
- Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness; look for ways to improve and promote quality; apply feedback to improve performance; monitor own work to ensure quality.
- Must possess knowledge pertaining to the nutraceutical industry and must be well versed in a variety of ingredients, their usage, forms, activities, and all other relevant physical characteristics as well as understanding how standard manufacturing equipment works.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision while always remaining productive.
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and phone etiquette.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Accurate typing ability.

A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $85,000- $100,000. The compensation offered may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and/or education.
