    $16.64 per hour - commensurate with experience. 

    Terms/Benefits:
    2026-2027 School Year
    10 month position - 6.0 hours per day

    Qualifications & Requirements:
    A high school diploma or equivalent.
    Additional training in child psychology, classroom management, special education needs, or other related areas of study is desired.
    Must possess an Associate's degree or 60 semester hours of coursework documented on an official transcript from an accredited institution of higher education; or pass a formal state assessment such as Master Teacher's Para Educator Learning Network (Parapro test paid for and administered by the district).
    A minimum of two years related work experience in an elementary or secondary school setting preferred.
    Demonstrated general proficiency in computer programs including Microsoft Excel and Word.

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
    Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
    Skills in human relations.
    Skills with computer based programs, organizing electronic records, and completing electronic reports.
    Ability to work effectively with groups of students with a limited time frame.
    Ability to teach to instructional objectives for at-risk students.
    Ability to efficiently complete clerical tasks.
    Willingness to attend conferences, in-service workshops, and classes to upgrade and update skills.
    Ability to apply common sense understanding to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations.
    Ability to work cooperatively and courteously with staff, students, parents and community members.
    Knowledge of applicable Federal and State laws, district procedures and Board policies.
    Ability to handle confrontation and conflict without an emotional response.
    Skills in time management.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
    Works under the supervision of a highly qualified Reading Specialist to provide supplemental support for at-risk students.
    Conducts daily, scheduled classes for academic support based on state standards.
    Provides small group and /or one-on-one support in the lab setting and/or in general education classrooms.
    Utilizes software and other technology to implement interventions and independent practice materials.
    Tracks and reports student data and performance by individual and groups.
    Maintains an orderly classroom environment; keeps inventory, catalogs and organizes classroom materials for student use.
    Attends faculty meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and other school meetings upon administrative request.
    Assists with reading promotions and events.
    Assists with cafeteria and playground supervision.

    General Information:
    Works with identified at-risk students to provide supplemental support in core reading skills.
