About the Role:

The Receiver plays a critical role in the supply chain and inventory management process by ensuring that all incoming shipments are accurately received, inspected, and documented. This position is responsible for verifying the quantity and quality of goods received against purchase orders and shipping documents to maintain inventory accuracy. The Receiver collaborates closely with warehouse staff and procurement teams to resolve discrepancies and facilitate the smooth flow of materials into storage or production areas. Attention to detail and organizational skills are essential to prevent errors and support efficient inventory control. Ultimately, the Receiver helps maintain operational efficiency by ensuring that all received goods meet company standards and are properly accounted for in the inventory system.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic experience in warehouse or inventory receiving operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret purchase orders, packing lists, and shipping documents.
  • Physical ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Familiarity with basic computer systems and inventory management software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a Receiver or in a similar warehouse role.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in warehouse environments.
  • Experience using barcode scanners and RF devices for inventory tracking.
  • Forklift certification or experience operating material handling equipment.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with suppliers and internal teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive and unload incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders and packing lists.
  • Inspect goods for damage, defects, or discrepancies and report any issues to the appropriate departments.
  • Accurately document received items in inventory management systems and update records accordingly.
  • Coordinate with warehouse personnel to ensure proper storage and handling of received materials.
  • Communicate with suppliers and procurement teams to resolve any delivery or quality issues.
  • Maintain a clean and organized receiving area to promote safety and efficiency.
  • Assist in cycle counts and inventory audits as needed to support inventory accuracy.
