Position: Receptionist
Location: Briarcliff Manor, NY
Schedule: Part-Time | 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM (with opportunity to pick up additional hours)
Pay Rate: $20.27 per hour

Briarcliff Manor Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing Care is seeking a friendly, organized, and dependable Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for visitors, residents, and staff. This role is essential in creating a welcoming environment while ensuring smooth front desk operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming calls, determine the nature of each call, and direct to the appropriate department or individual

  • Take and deliver messages or transfer calls to voicemail when necessary

  • Provide general information about the facility, including directions and contact details

  • Operate telephone and paging systems as needed

  • Coordinate communication for residents without phones by directing calls to nursing units

  • Respond to internal requests and assist in locating staff via paging system

  • Greet visitors and direct them to appropriate offices or resident rooms

  • Offer beverages to guests waiting for administrative staff, when appropriate

  • Ensure all visitors follow facility policies and procedures

  • Monitor front entrance for safety, including elopement risk residents

  • Oversee visitor access and maintain sign-in procedures

  • Maintain effective communication with residents, families, and staff

  • Keep updated records including resident directories, emergency contacts, and key personnel listings

  • Monitor presence of outside vendors and sales representatives

  • Adhere strictly to HIPAA and confidentiality guidelines

Qualifications

  • Prior customer service experience preferred

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Friendly, professional, and team-oriented attitude

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English

  • Capable of making independent decisions in a fast-paced environment
