Job Description

We are looking for a Receptionist to join our medical practice’s front office team. The ideal candidate is courteous, personable, and professional. If you’re a problem solver with a gift for making things run smoothly and alleviating patient concerns, we are interested in you. As a patient-facing professional, the Receptionist plays a key role in representing the practice.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the front desk is neat, presentable, and equipped with all the necessary supplies.
  • Serve patients by greeting them, answering routine questions, scheduling appointments, and maintaining records and accounts.
  • Uses practice management software (EMR), patient portal and appointment reminder systems, mobile applications, and other forms of technology to manage scheduling, interact with patients and providers, and update files and patients’ records.
  • Welcome patients and visitors in person or on the telephone and take detailed messages as needed.
  • Optimize patients’ satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone.
  • Assist patients in filling out insurance forms and other patient records.
  • Obtain revenue by recording and updating financial information, recording and collecting patient charges, monitoring credit extended to patients, and filing, collecting, and expediting third-party claims.
  • Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.
  • Minimize patients’ stress by anticipating their anxieties, answering questions, and maintaining a calm and orderly environment in the reception area.

 

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED). 

At least one (1) year work experience in a medical office environment as a receptionist with knowledge of EMR, medical terminology and HIPAA regulations.
