    Hours:  Monday - Friday 8:00 am-4:30 pm (40 hours per week)
    Pay Rate: $15.83 (up to $16.33 with prior secretarial experience)

    PRIMARY FUNCTION:
    The Receptionist works directly under the supervision of the building principal.  Primary responsibilities include the overall management of main office student, staff and visitor needs.

    REPORTS TO:
    The Receptionist reports to the Building Principal and the building administration.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • High School Diploma
    • Previous Office Professional experience preferred but not required


    SKILLS:

    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
    • Excellent typing skills
    • Able to work well with all other employees, students, and parents in a fast-paced office setting
    • Self-starter
    • Ability to problem solve
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality
    • Knowledge of PowerSchool or other student data management programs is preferred
    • Ability to speak Spanish is preferred but not required


    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Typical duties assigned to the Receptionist may include, but are not limited to the following:

    Customer Service

    • Greet and direct all visitors, students, and teachers
    • Communicate with visitors, students, parents and staff in a positive manner
    • Answer and direct all incoming telephone calls
    • Coordinate parent and student volunteers
    • Receive appointment notes/calls
    • Check students in and out for appointments
    • Check tardy students in
    • Maintain confidentiality
    • Answer the security buzzer
    • Maintain and distribute elevator keys to students with injuries
    • Update & improve the phone voice directory as needed
    • Distribute and collect facility use forms


    Office Management

    • Supervise and coordinate office scouts
    • Coordinate bells: turn on and off, 2-hour delay, or ring manually
    • Order visitor badges from Hiatt
    • Provide sign in and sign out pages in binders for visitors, and teachers
    • Manage students sent to the office: notify admin, maintain an orderly climate in the front waiting area


    Communication

    • Contact custodian as needed: teacher requests, deliveries, maintenance, etc�
    • Email update attendance to teachers daily
    • Communicate with security as needed
    • Organize and distribute all correspondence to be sent home with students
    • Maintain the front page of the website


    Misc. Tasks

    • Perform any other reasonable request from the principal, assistant principals, or guidance counselors
    • Assist teachers with field trips
    • Coordinate picture day & collect picture and yearbook orders
    • Assist with school-wide sign-ups such as American Fidelity meetings
    • Assist with school-wide mailings
