Job Description

The YMCA of Middle TN is Now Hiring for a Registered Dietitian

Position Type: Part-time

Pay Range starts at $22 per hour (or more depending on experience)

Shift:


Are you passionate about nutrition and ready to make a real impact in your community? At the YMCA of Middle Tennessee, we’re looking for a Registered Dietitian to help others discover the power of healthy living through education, encouragement, and expertise.


What You’ll Do:

  • Create and lead engaging nutritional programs that inspire healthier lifestyles.
  • Facilitate nutrition education sessions for our After Breast Cancer Program — a unique opportunity to support and empower survivors on their wellness journey.
  • Provide personalized counseling to individuals and groups on nutrition and health.
  • Promote healthy eating habits and teach practical skills like grocery shopping and meal prep.
  • Build meaningful relationships with members and represent the Y at community health events.
  • Flexibility is key — occasional evening hours may be required.

What You’ll Bring (requirements):

  • Minimum Age: 18
  • A bachelor’s degree in dietetics, nutrition, or food science (master’s required for KY)
  • Completion of a dietetic internship and National Registration Exam
  • Registered Dietitian (RD/LD) credentials and state licensure
  • Prior experience in the field

Certifications You’ll Need (we’ll help!):

  • CPR Pro/AED/First Aid (within 30 days)
  • Introduction to Listen First training (within 60 days)
  • Additional credentials in weight management, sports dietetics, or diabetes education (preferred)
