GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
As a Registered Nurse at the Wyoming Girls’ School, a therapeutic and educational facility for the treatment of court-ordered delinquent girls ages 12-21, you will play a pivotal role in providing holistic care and support to our residents. Your role will involve administering medications, providing treatments, coordinating healthcare services, and educating both residents and staff on health-related matters. Additionally, you will collaborate with our multidisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans that address the physical, emotional, and psychological needs of our residents. As an RN for the Wyoming Girl’s School, you will enjoy a flexible weekday schedule. To be successful in this position, you will need to be self-motivated and independent due to the autonomy you will have in this position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function which may be performed in the job level.
- Provides professional nursing services to teen female adolescents in a residential setting.
- Performs nursing assessment, diagnosis, treatment & evaluation of residents.
- Provides continuous care of residents through assessing, evaluating, and implementing processes to assure appropriate care and outcomes.
- Accurately prepares and administers medications and treatments as ordered by the physician.
- Triages calls from staff and handles routine concerns and emergencies.
- Communicates with the Physician and follows through on orders as appropriate.
- Reviews lab values and consults reports.
- Provides formal assessments, documentation, and progress notes.
- Monitors all aspects of patient care, including diet and physical activity.
- Arranges for and conducts nursing clinics and classes; teaches individuals and groups in health promotion and disease prevention.

KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of laws, principles, practices, and techniques of professional nursing.
- Knowledge of the maintenance of medical records, charts, reports, and observations.
- Knowledge of principles of nursing process and scientific process.
- Knowledge of public healthcare functions and essential services.
- Knowledge of applying medical diagnosis and treatment to patient care.
- Knowledge of scientific concepts is a basis for decision-making.
- Knowledge of physical, biological, and behavioral sciences.
- Knowledge of evaluation services and programs according to standards.
- Knowledge of work management and leadership theory, and practice.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local law pertaining to healthcare.
- Knowledge of medication and treatment assistance records.
- Knowledge of electronic record keeping and database management.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

3-5 years of progressive work experience (typically in Nursing) with acquired knowledge at the level of an LPN
Minimum Qualifications
PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
- A background check, including the taking of fingerprints, will be completed through the Wyoming Department of Criminal Investigation, the Department of Family Services, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for every successful applicant.
- Lift/transfer patients to different positions.
- Lift medical/patient equipment of varying sizes and weights up to about 50 lbs.
- Restrain clients for treatments, climb stairs to patient homes, and drive long distances.
- Travel throughout the state and to national conferences if requested.
- Work evenings, nights, and /or weekends when the situation requires it.
