What Your Days Look Like
You'll provide nursing support within the school setting, including:
- Providing 1:1 nursing care for a student throughout the school day
- Performing tracheostomy care and monitoring the student's respiratory status
- Administering medications and treatments as prescribed
- Assessing and responding to illness, injuries, or medical emergencies during the school day
- Maintaining accurate health records and documenting care provided
- Collaborating with teachers, administrators, therapists, and families to support the student's health and educational goals
- Supporting safe participation during classroom activities, transportation, and throughout the school day
- Serving as a health resource for school staff and assisting with health-related needs as appropriate
Program Details
Primary responsibility is supporting one student in a general education setting who requires ongoing tracheostomy care during the school day.
Includes riding the school bus with the student daily.
Seeking an RN who is detail-oriented, consistent, and comfortable following individualized care plans while building a strong relationship with the student.

The (Required) Qualifications
To practice safely and compliantly, we do need:
- Active, unrestricted Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Experience with tracheostomy care preferred
- Experience working with pediatric patients or school-aged children preferred
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with school staff and families
- BLS certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross) within 90 days of hire
- Background check and fingerprinting will be required for this role
