The Oncology Unit at Raleigh General Hospital provides compassionate, patient-centered care to adult patients undergoing treatment for various cancer diagnoses and hematologic conditions. This specialized unit focuses on delivering comprehensive oncology services, including chemotherapy administration, symptom management, pain control, blood product administration, palliative support, and patient/family education.

How you’ll contribute  

A Registered Nurse, RN who excels in this role: 

  • Performs accurate and thorough patient assessments and identifies patient needs 
  • Initiates appropriate nursing interventions based on assessment findings
  • Provides age- and condition-appropriate nursing care 
  • Completes timely and accurate documentation supporting medical necessity in the medical record 
  • Develops, implements, and revises interdisciplinary care plans for each patient

What we’re looking for

Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess an associates or bachelor’s degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

  • Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire. 
  • ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.  
  • One year of experience preferred 
  • ASLS certification preferred
