PRIMARY PURPOSE:
To assist Coordinator of Health Services, SPED Department, and Campus Health Aides with special medical needs and other Health Services Operations. Implement district health services program to best meets the needs of the student population on the assigned campus. Provide health services to students. Promote health and safety education for students and preventive health practices for students.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
Graduate of an accredited professional nursing education program with a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Valid registered nurse (RN) licensed to practice professional nursing in Texas from the State Board of Nurse
Examiners or from a state of participating in the Nursing Licensure Complact (NLC)
Must be certified in CPR, First Aid, and AED
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Calm and patient demeanor with students and others
Knowledge of health appraisal to identify student health defects
Ability to implement policy and procedures
Knowledge of basic first aid
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
