Key Responsibilities

  • Administer medications and treatments per physician's orders and facility policy.
  • Monitor residents’ conditions and report changes promptly.
  • Maintain accurate resident records and documentation.
  • Educate residents on procedures and self-care.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control and safety standards.
  • Supervise nursing staff during assigned shifts.
  • Participate in meetings, in-services, and continuing education.

Requirements

  • Current NY State license as a Registered Professional Nurse.
  • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience (geriatrics preferred).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with older adults.

Physical & Non-Physical Demands

Physical Abilities:

  • Standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs), pushing, pulling, kneeling, reaching, and fine motor skills.
  • Ability to work in environments with potential exposure to chemicals, odors, and fluctuating temperatures.

Reasoning & Cognitive Skills:

  • Analyze, evaluate, organize, and implement care plans.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and make sound clinical judgments.

Visual & Auditory Requirements:

  • Ability to see, distinguish, and perceive details; hear and communicate clearly.

Summary

The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care to residents based on individual needs and physician orders at our skilled nursing facility. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, and administering care in accordance with nursing policies and procedures.
