The Registrar is responsible for directing patients and/or relatives, visitors, and promoting positive guest relations. Responsible for the Admissions/Registration, Pre-Admissions, Discharges, and Transfers of patients. Accurately obtains demographic and insurance information while collecting or making financial arrangements on co-pays, deductibles, and self-pay accounts. Obtains insurance authorizations and/or pre-certifications, and verifies insurance coverage and benefits. Assists with the development and implementation of the department's Performance Improvement Plan.
Successful candidate must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and one year experience working in a medical/business office setting with a strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial Insurance rules and regulations. Knowledge of medical terminology. Above average data entry skills.
