JOB TITLE: Rehabilitation Therapy Coordinator
DEPARTMENT: Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy
JOB RELATIONSHIPS:
Responsible to: Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy Department Director
Interrelationships: Works cooperatively with all hospital departments, Medical
Staff, patients, and visitors.
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for communicating with patients, providers, and other clinic staff, maintaining organization of the office, and ensuring that the environment is welcoming for our patients and their families.

Experience: None required
Education: High School or equivalent.
Req. Cert./
Registration: None required
Required Skills and Abilities:
Excellent professional oral and written communication skills
Able to work both independently and collaboratively
Knowledge of medical terminology is helpful
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
JOB DUTIES (This list may not include all the duties assigned.)
- Answer and screen incoming calls and patient inquiries, relaying messages or transferring calls to the appropriate staff.
- Gather applicable documentation from new patients.
- Correspond with insurance companies regarding prior authorization information via phone or online portals.
- Assist in all scheduling tasks for department.
- Performs various clerical duties.
- Assists in ordering and restocking therapy supplies.
- Assists in maintenance, care, and cleaning of department equipment and supplies
- Assist therapists occasionally during patient treatments when an extra set of hands is needed for patient support/safety such as pushing a wheelchair, stabilizing chairs/walkers, gathering equipment, etc.
- Maintain appropriate office documentation.
- Maintain confidentiality as defined by hospital policy.
- Attend and participate in orientation, training, mandatory education, staff meetings, and education courses as instructed to further improve knowledge and skills.
- Works in harmony with assigned co-workers and other department’s staff.
