Job Summary
The Repair Technician is responsible for diagnosing, testing, troubleshooting, and performing repair assembly on various computer hardware. Equipment includes, but is not limited to, notebooks, Chromebooks, desktops, and monitors. This position plays a critical role in our depot operations by ensuring client assets are repaired safely, accurately, and returned to service with minimal downtime.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Perform precision disassembly and reassembly of computers and related peripherals.
- Execute hardware repairs, including operating system (OS) reloads.
- Complete repairs using CSS application processes.
- Efficiently test, troubleshoot, and diagnose complex hardware and software issues.
- Proactively identify, document and report quality issues.
- Maintain strong fine motor skills and dexterity to safely use hand tools and repair equipment.
- Meet high and consistent daily volume targets (throughput) on all assigned repairs.
- Apply strict attention to detail to ensure low defect rates.
- Demonstrate regular, punctual, and satisfactory attendance.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of hands-on experience in Computer Repair or hardware repair field is preferred.
- CompTIA A+ Certification is preferred but not required.
Schedule Requirements
- On-site presence is required at the office 5 days per week. Work is full-time, Monday through Friday during standard working hours; day shift 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Candidates must be available to work within this timeframe.
- Flexible scheduling with the potential for overtime and weekend shifts based on volume.
- Ability to maintain a strict 96% (rolling 13-week) attendance and punctuality average.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to freely and safely traverse all areas of the operations facility, navigate stairs, and tolerate prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking across the depot floor.
- Excellent fine motor skills and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer keyboard, utilize traditional telephone equipment, and safely handle precision hand tools such as soldering equipment, pliers, screwdrivers, and vacuums/blowers.
- Ability to safely manipulate, lift, and manage parts or equipment weighing up to 45 lbs. using proper ergonomic lifting techniques.
- Ability to see, hear, and maintain sharp visual focus and depth perception at close distances for extended periods during component-level troubleshooting.
- Ability to effectively communicate in person or via telephone with peers and supervisors to maintain operational awareness.
- Footwear Requirements: Close-toed shoes are mandatory on the production floor.
Work and Safety Requirements
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in ambient room temperatures with lighting and traditional warehousing equipment as found in typical, climate-controlled warehouses and office environments.
- Warehousing equipment such as person lifts and forklifts may be present. Watching and listening to traffic is required.
- Maintaining equipment could include the use of chemicals including cleaning and greasing / de-greasing agents.
- Due to the use of tools, the presence of heavy equipment, and use of chemicals / cleaning agents, this position is considered safety sensitive.
