The Research Assistant supports faculty and research teams within the College of Engineering by contributing to ongoing research projects, data collection, analysis, and documentation. This role provides hands-on experience in an academic research environment and is ideal for individuals interested in pursuing advanced studies or careers in engineering, technology, or applied sciences.Essential Job Functions
Job Functions
- Assist faculty and research staff with the design and execution of research projects
- Conduct literature reviews and summarize findings
- Collect, analyze, and interpret experimental or computational data
- Maintain accurate research records, databases, and documentation
- Support the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and publications
- Operate laboratory equipment and follow established safety protocols (if applicable)
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and attend research meetings * Perform general administrative tasks related to research activities
Minimum and Desired Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Enrollment in or completion of a degree program in Engineering or a related field
- Basic understanding of engineering principles and research methodologies
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in standard software tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, data analysis software, or programming languages relevant to the field)
