Job Summary


Job Summary

The Research Assistant supports faculty and research teams within the College of Engineering by contributing to ongoing research projects, data collection, analysis, and documentation. This role provides hands-on experience in an academic research environment and is ideal for individuals interested in pursuing advanced studies or careers in engineering, technology, or applied sciences.


Essential Job Functions


Job Functions

  • Assist faculty and research staff with the design and execution of research projects
  • Conduct literature reviews and summarize findings
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret experimental or computational data 
  • Maintain accurate research records, databases, and documentation 
  • Support the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and publications 
  • Operate laboratory equipment and follow established safety protocols (if applicable) 
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and attend research meetings * Perform general administrative tasks related to research activities


Minimum and Desired Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications 

  • Enrollment in or completion of a degree program in Engineering or a related field 
  • Basic understanding of engineering principles and research methodologies 
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  •  Effective written and verbal communication skills
  •  Proficiency in standard software tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, data analysis software, or programming languages relevant to the field)
