We are seeking a person to work in the Gene Modification facility of the Animal Model Shared Resource and participate in the generation of genetically modified mouse and cell lines. Prior expertise in mouse husbandry, breeding and genotyping is preferred. The successful applicant will have the following responsibilities:
- Maintain mouse colonies, including routine care, breeding, colony organization, and shipment of mice, with occasional guidance.
- Occasionally analyze and rarely interpret genotyping results and maintain accurate records.
- Assist in optimizing and troubleshooting standard genotyping protocols as needed.
- Occasionally order routine laboratory supplies.
- Assist with basic cell culture.
- Rarely provide guidance to students or postdoctoral fellows on routine mouse husbandry and breeding procedures.
- BA or BS in Related Science Field or equivalent skills and related experience, and zero to two years of related experience.
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the hourly rates for this are listed below. This rate is based on the 1199 bargaining unit contract.
