Vision Quest Solutions is seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) to support an IHS (Indian Health Services) outpatient clinic in Eagle Butte, SD. This in-person, government contract role provides direct patient care across outpatient and specialty clinics.


As an RN in this role, you will deliver compassionate, patient-centered care to a tribal community where cultural respect, reliability, and continuity of care are essential. Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients in outpatient clinic settings
  • Perform focused and comprehensive nursing assessments, vital signs, and reassessments
  • Administer medications and immunizations per provider orders and standing protocols
  • Assist with wound care (including VAC dressings), venipuncture, specimen collection, catheter care, EKGs, and point-of-care testing
  • Support specialty clinics, mobile clinics, and community outreach activities
  • Provide limited coverage in Emergency Department or Acute Care units as needed for patient observation, medication passes, vitals, and basic nursing care
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and preventive health
  • Document all nursing care accurately and timely in the IHS Electronic Health Record (EHR/RPMS)
  • Follow all infection control, safety, and quality standards in compliance with IHS, CMS, and TJC requirements
  • Promote a respectful, safe, and culturally sensitive care environment

Schedule & Work Details

  • Outpatient clinics with rotation to specialty clinics and mobile units as needed
  • 80 hours per two-week pay period
  • Weekend and holiday coverage required based on clinic needs
  • Flexibility expected to support mission-critical healthcare services
  • Reliability required during inclement weather and high-need periods

Work Environment

  • On-site outpatient clinics, mobile clinics, and community outreach locations
  • Standing, walking, lifting, and direct patient care
  • Fast-paced, mission-driven healthcare setting


Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license  (any state)
  • Minimum 2 years of outpatient or ambulatory nursing experience
  • American Heart Association certifications required:
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • PALS
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, and documentation skills
  • Proficiency with electronic health records
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Commitment to culturally respectful care in tribal and Native communities
  • Ability to maintain licensure and certifications throughout the contract period
  • Must successfully pass a federal background investigation (Tier 2) and obtain a PIV badge
