Description
POSITION SUMMARY: Produce rolled and turned parts to engineering specifications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Set up and operate roll machine and turning center to produce parts to specification. Control and monitor the material flow.
• Load and unload machines as required.
• Measure and inspect parts for quality and fit to print.
• Schedule jobs to meet production schedule.
• Perform hourly, daily, weekly maintenance and calibration.
• Observe the regulations regarding environmental protection, work safety, and efficiency.
• Coordinate work with operations before and after them in the process chain.
• Shuttle parts within plant, as required.
• Clean machine and work area.
• Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must be self-motivated.
• Must have high attention to details.
• Must have ability to use common measuring tools and able to measure parts to tolerances of thousandths of an inch.
• Must have ability to adjust programs with proper training and authorization.
• Must have mechanical abilities.
• Must be a team player.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret common prints, CAD drawings.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management and customers.
• Must maintain absolute confidentiality in all areas of responsibility, including, but not limited to: company designs, manufacturing processes, tooling, and other company trade secrets.
• Ability to perform basic math functions using calculator or PC.
• Ability to use common plant measurement tools including calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables under strict manufacturing and product standards.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• High School diploma required. Certificate in relevant area from tech or trade school preferred.
• One to Two years CNC experience preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate and exchange accurate information with co-workers.
• The employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary position.
• The employee may occasionally be required to traverse within the facility.
• The employee will constantly operate equipment and handle material that requires dexterity, grip, and detection of minute details in materials, tools and/or equipment.
• The employee may be required to ascend/descend and position themselves around equipment, tools, and fixturing.
• The employee must frequently move, lift, and/or transport components, tools, and equipment ranging from 10 – 60 pounds.
• Specific abilities required by this job include the ability to perceive items up close, observe items in the distance, distinguish between colors, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
• Position will function in a factory environment with assembly and welding operations.
• The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud.
• The work environment and parts handled are oily.
