Job Description

About The Role

The Sales & Installation Technician (AMR) will be responsible for the successful rollout, optimisation, and ongoing support of Sunbelt Rentals’ Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) cleaning fleet.

This role ensures that all robotic solutions are effectively deployed, fully utilised, and delivering measurable value to customers through performance tracking, and continuous improvement.

Deployment & Implementation

  • Conduct site surveys to determine optimal robot usage and coverage
  • Lead the deployment of robotic cleaning equipment across customer sites (evenings and night working may be required periodically)
  • Configure machines for site-specific environments (mapping, scheduling, routes)
  • Ensure smooth onboarding and operational readiness
  • Working closely with the Operations team to ensure smooth delivery and provide excellent customer service

Customer Enablement

  • Deliver end-user familiarisation and demonstrations to customer teams and operatives
  • Produce and maintain handover materials and best practice guides
  • Act as the subject matter expert for all robotic cleaning systems
  • Drive adoption and correct usage across all installations

Ongoing Support & Account Management

  • Provide ongoing technical and operational support to customers
  • Conduct regular site visits to ensure optimal performance
  • Troubleshoot issues and coordinate with technical teams where required
  • Build strong customer relationships to drive satisfaction and retention
  • Promote ongoing revenue growth across all Flooring equipment

Data, Reporting & Performance Monitoring

  • Analyse usage reports (e.g. cleaning hours, m² cleaned, utilisation rates)
  • Provide clear, commercially focused reporting to internal teams and customers
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity and efficiency
  • Track ROI and cost-per-m² savings for each deployment

Fleet Utilisation & Optimisation

  • Monitor utilisation across the AMR fleet
  • Identify underperforming assets and implement improvement plans
  • Recommend redeployment where appropriate
  • Support scaling of robotic solutions across multiple sites

Continuous Improvement & Innovation

  • Stay up to date with advancements in robotic cleaning technology
  • Provide feedback to suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Support new product introductions and trials
  • Attend customer and supplier events to promote the Flooring Solutions Business
  • Collaborate and work cohesively with the supply chain
This is a National role and will involve full UK travel.

Essential Skills

  • Sales and technical background (cleaning, FM, or equipment rental would be advantageous
  • Experience in deployment, delivery, and customer engagement
  • Ability to interpret data and translate into actionable insights
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Problem-solving mindset with strong attention to detail
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel

Desirable Skills

  • Experience working with robotics, automation, or AMR technologies
  • Knowledge of FM sector or contract cleaning environments
  • Familiarity with data, reporting platforms or data analytics tools
  • Previous experience in equipment deployment or field-based roles
