Summary:
The Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth by developing and
implementing strategic sales initiatives to attract and retain clients. This
role involves managing client relationships, identifying new business
opportunities, and ensuring that the hotel's sales goals are met. The Sales
Manager plays a key role in building the hotel’s brand presence and achieving
financial targets through effective sales strategies and exceptional customer
service.
Key
Responsibilities
- Sales Strategy and Planning
- Develop and
execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets and maximize
market share. - Identify and
pursue new business opportunities, including corporate accounts, group
bookings, and special events. - Analyze market
trends, competitor activity, and client needs to adjust sales strategies
and capitalize on opportunities. - Collaborate
with the marketing team to create promotional materials, campaigns, and
offers that drive bookings and increase visibility.
- Build and
maintain strong relationships with key clients, including corporate
clients, travel agents, and event planners. - Conduct sales
presentations, site visits, and negotiations to secure new contracts and
business opportunities. - Address client
inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure high levels of satisfaction to
foster long-term partnerships. - Follow up with
clients post-event or stay to ensure satisfaction and encourage repeat
business.
- Monitor and
evaluate sales performance against targets, identifying areas for
improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed. - Prepare regular
sales reports and forecasts for management review, detailing sales
activities, revenue performance, and market insights. - Track and
analyze sales metrics, including lead generation, conversion rates, and
client feedback, to assess the effectiveness of sales strategies.
- Collaborate
with other hotel departments, including front desk, catering, and
operations, to ensure a seamless guest experience and successful event
execution. - Provide
guidance and support to junior sales staff or sales coordinators,
offering training and mentorship as needed. - Participate in
sales meetings and contribute to the development of team goals and
strategies.
- Market Research and Networking
- Conduct market
research to stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities,
and emerging opportunities. - Attending
industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to build
relationships and promote the hotel’s services. - Develop
partnerships with local businesses, organizations, and influencers to
enhance the hotel's visibility and reputation in the market.
- Ensure that all
sales activities are conducted with a focus on delivering exceptional
customer service and enhancing the guest experience. - Address and
resolve any client concerns or complaints promptly and professionally,
ensuring client satisfaction and loyalty.
Other
duties as assigned to meet the needs of the property.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality
management, business administration, marketing, or a related field. - Proven experience in a sales role
within the hospitality industry, with a strong track record of achieving
sales targets and driving revenue growth. - Excellent communication,
negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to build and
maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders. - Strong analytical and
problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement
effective sales strategies. - Proficiency in sales and CRM
software, along with Microsoft Office Suite. - Ability to work independently and
manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Working
Conditions:
- Flexible working hours, including
evenings and weekends as required by client schedules and events. - Ability to travel locally or
regionally to meet with clients and attend industry events. - Occasional lifting of promotional
materials or event supplies (up to 30 lbs.).
