Compensation: $18/h - $22+/h (dependent on experience) + Quarterly Incentive Bonus + Overtime Opportunities

PURPOSE:
Under general supervision, follows established safety and operating procedures to clean metal castings in accordance with quality standards. Ensures that documentation, tooling and parts are correctly matched to paperwork.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Adjusts equipment to obtain optimum running condition.
Inspects own parts for surface distortion and imperfections such as flow lines, cracks, breaks, sinks, excess flash, non-fill and porous condition.
Loads blast material of proper size and type in all machines.
Maintains equipment in a safe manner.
Consistently notifies supervisor when workload is low.
Display a willingness and interest to learn through on-the-job training.
Know and understand all general plant and department safety rules and policies.
Have the physical ability to perform function.
Demonstrate the ability to recognize and communicate production problems to supervisor.
Maintain above average production efficiency.
Demonstrate proper procedures for signing off all department documents.
Have necessary eye to hand coordination to perform sandblast operations to meet surface finish requirements.
Pass a practical test which consists of at least the following steps:
- Read and interpret paperwork instructions.
- Know and understand sandblast cleaning equipment.
- Demonstrate completion of at least 15 different shop numbers to specifications.
- Load blast material of proper size in all types of machines.
Demonstrate ability to log on main computer system, extract information, log time, enter inventory amount and forward to next operation.
Must be able to clean all types of castings using sandblast, shot blast or chemical methods.
Adjust nozzles and pressure properly.
Turn dust collector on and off.
Meets all production and quality standards.
All other duties assigned.
SPECIAL SKILLS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Requires the use of judgment to plan, perform, and make decisions within standard procedures.
- Requires eye hand visual and manual dexterity to operate tools along with continuous mental or visual attention requiring alertness.
- Physical demands to lift up to 20 lbs frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
- Must be able to wear PPE.
EDUCATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Requires the use of shop math plus decimals, fractions, formulas, specifications charts, tables, and adjustable measuring instruments requiring interpretation, preparations and posting.
- 6 months of manufacturing experience.
