Job Description
Position: Security Guard 
Position Status: Nonexempt, Hourly, Part-Time 
Position Schedule: Days and hours vary, but not to exceed 28 hrs/week 


 Position Summary:  Promote lawful behavior and protect the welfare of the people in and around the campus. Security performs foot patrol of the interior and exterior of the campus to monitor behavior, secure buildings and property, maintain order. Monitor the surveillance systems and report suspicious behavior. Assist with completing the security playbook, add a ministry/spiritual aspect with the team and conduct ongoing tactical and gun handling training. 

 Responsibilities 
  • Patrol interior spaces and exterior grounds for any questionable behavior during your shift, security breaches, etc. 
  • Intentionally greet strangers on campus with (May I help you with something? Is there someone you are looking for?) Gauge the answers to these questions to determine your phase of action.  
  • Be a welcoming presence to the staff, guests & community. 
  • Be visible and aware of your surroundings: possible disturbances, disruptions, and threats. 
  • When dealing with possible offenders use non-threatening communication skills to deter aggressive situations. 
  • Immediately alert proper authority if a situation threatens to turn aggressive. (pastors, operations coordinator, receptionist) Call 911 if needed. 
  • Assist with directing the flow of traffic and parking. 
  • Assist individuals to their vehicles if needed or requested. 
  •  Assist with money collections
  • When an incident occurs complete all incident reports before the end of shift. Forward report to operation manager. 
Requirements
     Act 235 Preferred.
     Must obtain Act 235 within the first 90 days of employment.

Required Qualifications 
  • Has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. 
  • Models spiritual leadership and lifestyle consistent with the beliefs of ACAC. 
  • High school diploma/GED required 
  • Uphold a sense of confidentiality 
  • Able to deal with conflict and maintain focus 
  • Excellent people skills, highly organized and energetic. 
  • Understands the importance of community and relationship-building 
  • Become ACT 235 Certified. ACAC will cover the cost. 


 
Physical Requirements 
  • Constant (90-100% of the time) repetitive motion hand movement, grasping, holding, finger dexterity, eye hand coordination, hearing, talking, sitting, walking, up & down steps, constantly analyzing your surroundings. 
  • Frequent (60-90% of the time) pushing, pulling, bending, squatting, reaching. 
  • Rare (0-30%) heavy physical exertion, hand to hand combat confrontation.
