Security Guard

REPORTS TO:
Director of Operations, School Principal and/or designee

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience in law enforcement and/or in the security field;
• Aptitude for and competence in performing the assigned responsibilities of the position;
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Patrol school building and/or grounds to prevent or curtail any situation which may endanger the safety and welfare of the students or staff, including theft, vandalism, illegal entry, altercations, fire, etc.;
• Conduct patrol inspections of doorways, stairwells, hallways, lavatories, and school grounds to determine that they are secure from any unauthorized activities;
• Confront unauthorized persons for questioning; route or detain them or call police for assistance, according to Board and/or School policy;
• Make written reports of security violations;
• Operate and understand the Video Surveillance System;
• Perform such other tasks and assume such other responsibilities as the building principal or his/her designee may assign to ensure the safety, security and protection of all students, staff and property.
• SORA license is a plus.

REMUNERATION:
Full Time Position, salary will be $30.75 per hour.  

SORA License salary will be $32.75 per hour.
