Unit Description

Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack in Wheeling, West Virginia, is a Delaware North-owned-and-operated regional gaming destination featuring 1,300 electronic gaming machines, 22 table games, live greyhound racing, and simulcast wagering. Wheeling Island also features a 151-room hotel, many dining options, and a 1,000-seat showroom.


Responsibilities

  • Enforce the rules and regulations of the local gaming commission
  • Adhere to all unit and company alcohol service policies and procedures
  • Report any incidents, following all departmental and organizational policies and procedures, and report any procedural violations and illegal activity
  • Fill out departmental log forms, verifying all paperwork is complete and turned in at the conclusion of shifts
  • Process guest complaints, using active listening skills to control difficult situations, and communicate with guests sensitively and with care

Qualifications

  • No high school diploma or GED required
  • Security guard, state-certified
  • Able to be licensed by the state gaming commission
  • Highly motivated and takes initiative
  • Team-oriented; ability to work effectively with others
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, stooping, lifting, reaching, and pushing, with strong manual dexterity and the ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs. You may also occasionally be required to sit for periods of time
  • Visual awareness is sufficient to identify potential security violations
  • Hearing ability sufficient to respond to the spoken voice, audible alarms, and two-way radios
  • Exposure to all weather conditions
