 POSITION TITLE: Security/ Porter

REPORTS TO: Operations Manager 

LOCATION: St. Barnabas Community Resource Center

TYPE OF POSITION: PT 24 hours/week (Flexibility Req) M-Th. 12-6pm

JOB SUMMARY 

The Security/Porter is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of ECS’ SBCRC campus and the areas identified as essential for programming. The person in this role will follow access control protocols to prevent unauthorized entry, monitor cameras, and identify and respond to safety hazards and potential threats. Security/Porter personnel are the first point of contact for visitors and are expected to greet visitors courteously, helping and providing information when appropriate. 

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities 

The incumbent must be able to perform the following essential duties with or without a reasonable accommodation(s): 

    Engage with the community and participants to build trust and a sense of welcome. 

    Ensure data is entered into CaseWorthy aligned with ECS Learning and Evaluation Department standards. 

    Support Food Pantry and other Community Wellness Services related activities. 

    Attend mandatory training, all-staff, department meetings, and daily security briefings. 

    Monitor and manage access to the building using security tools such as weapons detection system, cameras, door intercom system. 

    Regularly monitor security cameras to surveil the building, grounds, and inhabitants for safety and security. 

    Conduct security rounds throughout the day across ECS SBCRC campus, monitoring for safety, security 

    Provide main lobby or 2nd floor monitoring and support for staff, partners and guests using the different ECS spaces 

    Complete Help Desk tickets for issues that require repair or maintenance. 

    Occasional cleaning and disinfecting of restrooms/bathrooms, dining room areas, and other areas as required. Maintain facility grounds per schedule, which may include but is not limited to: 

    As needed, provide back up support to Facilities in sweeping facility grounds to ensure walkways remain safe throughout the day. 

    Provide back up support to Facilities for snow removal from sidewalks, driveways, and parking areas as needed using snow plows, snow blowers, and snow shovels and spread snow melting chemicals per position modification. 

    Occasional building maintenance support as a member of the SFO Team. 

    Gather and empty trash cans (up to 50 lbs.)

    Setting up rooms for programming, meetings, and workshops. 

    Responsible for transporting items in and around the facility as a member of the SFO Team. 

Education and Experience 

    High school equivalency required 

    At least two (2) years of experience in security or a related field. 

    Customer Service experience. 

    Proficient computer skills (including but not limited to Microsoft Office suite, Adobe products, and CRM/database) 

    Proficiency in using security systems, CCTV cameras, and other relevant equipment 

    Valid PA Driver’s License

   Requires the ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs; walk and stand for extended periods, as well as, push/pull/reach as needed
