About the Opportunity

Make a meaningful impact by using your accounting expertise to strengthen community health and social service programs. We�re seeking a Senior Accountant who is passionate about nonprofit work, committed to financial integrity, and eager to support programs that expand access to essential care.

In this key role, you�ll manage grant compliance, financial reporting, and accounting functions that ensure resources reach the individuals and families who need them most.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Operations

  • Prepare and process monthly journal entries
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Support Medicare/Medicaid cost reports, the 330 Grant Budget, and UDS reporting
  • Lead special accounting projects as needed

Grant Compliance & Billing

  • Prepare accurate, timely Health Center grant invoices and reports
  • Submit reimbursement requests with required documentation
  • Monitor budget vs. actuals and provide financial projections
  • Review accounts receivable and follow up with funding partners

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Generate monthly financial reports by grant, location, and department
  • Provide ad-hoc financial analysis to leadership
  • Communicate financial trends or irregularities to the Director of Finance
  • Collaborate with Program Leaders on grant budgets and financial reviews

Organizational Support

  • Participate in the annual budgeting process
  • Prepare documentation for state and federal site visits
  • Assist with annual audit preparation

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor�s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of nonprofit experience (grant reporting, budgeting, compliance)
  • Knowledge of OMB 2 CFR Part 200
  • Proficiency with nonprofit accounting systems (SAGE Intacct preferred)
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, especially for FQHC/CMHC environments
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in nonprofit healthcare (FQHC, CMHC)
  • Experience in Community Action Programs or wraparound service settings
