Job Description

POSITION:



The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing core accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and completing monthly accounting tasks within established deadlines.



ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:



· Perform and manage monthly accounting tasks, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities, consistently meeting deadlines



· Prepare and review monthly financial statements and supporting schedules for skilled nursing and assisted living operations



· Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal company policies



· Analyze financial results, identify variances, and provide explanations to management



· Support audits, cost reports, and regulatory reviews by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries



· Collaborate with various department leaders to ensure accurate financial data



· Assist in improving accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting efficiency



· Provide guidance and support to other accounting staff as needed



JOB FUNCTIONS:



· Proficient in MS Office applications



· Strong communication skills and able to work effectively with operational leaders



· Experience managing decentralized AP activities is preferred



· Strong team player and leader, highly motivated and able to work under pressure during peak periods



· Able to work some off-hours necessary to complete the monthly close process



PHYSICAL CAPACITIES: (With or Without the Aid of Mechanical Devices)



· Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer



· Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, data entry, and operating standard office equipment



· Ability to view computer screens, financial reports, and detailed data for prolonged periods



· Occasional standing, walking, bending, or reaching within an office environment



· Ability to lift and carry light objects (typically up to 10–15 pounds), such as files or office supplies
