RVNAhealth is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Finance team in Ridgefield, CT. This is an exciting opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys a blend of financial reporting, analysis, budgeting, process improvement, and systems optimization. The Senior Accountant will play an important role in supporting the Agency's financial operations while helping drive key initiatives, including financial systems enhancements and reporting improvements.

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Senior Accountant will support accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, audit preparation, and financial analysis. This position will work closely with Finance leadership and department managers across the organization to ensure accurate financial reporting and support informed business decisions.

The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, technology-savvy, and eager to contribute to a mission-driven organization while helping modernize and strengthen financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting & Financial Reporting

  • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Support preparation of financial statements and management reports.
  • Perform account analysis and investigate discrepancies.
  • Maintain the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger.

Budgeting & Financial Analysis

  • Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Prepare budget-to-actual and variance analyses.
  • Support financial modeling and operational reporting.
  • Develop reports and dashboards that provide actionable financial insights.
  • Analyze financial trends and identify opportunities for improvement.

Financial Systems & Process Improvement

  • Support the ongoing implementation and optimization of Sage Intacct.
  • Assist with financial reporting enhancements, workflow improvements, and automation initiatives.
  • Participate in system testing, data validation, reporting development, and process documentation.
  • Help streamline financial processes and improve operational efficiency.
  • Utilize technology and approved automation tools to enhance reporting and analysis.

Audit, Compliance & Revenue Cycle Support

  • Assist with annual audits, regulatory filings, and supporting documentation.
  • Support analysis of billing, collections, reimbursement, and accounts receivable trends.
  • Maintain compliance with accounting standards, Agency policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with fund accounting, grant reporting, and nonprofit financial reporting activities.

Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting or finance experience.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Preferred

  • CPA, CPA candidate, CMA, MBA, or other advanced accounting/finance credential.
  • Nonprofit accounting experience.
  • Healthcare, home health, hospice, or human services experience.
  • Experience with Sage Intacct, Microsoft Great Plains, or comparable ERP systems.
  • Experience supporting system implementations, reporting enhancements, or process improvement initiatives.
  • Familiarity with fund accounting, grant accounting, audits, and regulatory reporting.

Compensation:
The pay range for this position is $85,000 to $100,000 annually and represents RVNAhealth's commitment to pay transparency and is a reasonable estimate of possible compensation for this role at the time of posting. The final salary for this role will be determined based on careful consideration of a variety of factors, such as the candidate's exact location, experience, and expertise related to the qualifications.
