Overview:

Delaware North Gaming is searching for a full-time Senior Accountant to join our team at Southland Casino in West Memphis, Arkansas. As a Senior Accountant, you will be providing comprehensive accounting support, including month-end general ledger close, balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, audit support, and financial analysis. You will be working closely with the Controller to meet the financial and operational needs of the business, so if you are seeking a motivating and detail-oriented accounting role, this could be the best play in your career.

Unit Description:

Southland Casino Hotel, owned and operated by Delaware North, features more than 2200 slot machines, live blackjack, craps, and roulette tables, simulcast wagering, and sportsbook. Our new hotel features 300 luxurious rooms and suites. Southland is located in West Memphis, Arkansas, only a short drive from downtown Memphis, Tennessee.



Responsibilities:
  • Oversee fixed asset facilitation, including tracking, capitalization, and compliance with company policies and GAAP
  • Provide accounting support for the unit ensuring timely and high-quality delivery, facilitate and complete monthly close procedures, investigate variances with financial analysis, and enhance internal controls and efficiency
  • Prepare audit documentation, support reporting and presentations for leadership, and coordinate with third-party partners as appropriate
  • Review contracts and calculate financial obligations, and collaborate with the Controller to support business needs and operational teams to improve reporting and processes
  • Manage lifecycle including capitalization, transfers, and disposals, reconcile subledger to general ledger, collaborate with departments on asset tracking and validation, and support audits and process improvements


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration

  • 3–5 years of accounting or finance experience preferred

  • Strong skills in communication, attention to detail, analytics, problem solving, advanced Excel and accounting systems, and knowledge of GAAP

  • Strong Excel experience required
