Position: AI / ML Security Engineer (Senior)



Clearance: TS/SCI CI-POLY

Location: Fort Meade, MD

Schedule: Monday?Friday, Day Shift



Role Overview



The AI / ML Security Engineer will support the evaluation, testing, and security assessment of machine learning systems, including large language models (LLMs). This role focuses on identifying vulnerabilities, conducting red-team assessments, and analyzing model behavior to understand potential security risks and operational impacts. The position combines machine learning, cybersecurity, and intelligence analysis to support mission-focused AI initiatives.



What You'll Do




  • Conduct security assessments and red-team evaluations of AI and ML systems, including LLMs

  • Develop automated testing and evaluation frameworks using Python

  • Identify model vulnerabilities, failure modes, data leakage, and other security concerns

  • Analyze AI/ML outputs and document findings for technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Support deployment and testing of AI systems in Linux and containerized environments

  • Collaborate with intelligence analysts and technical teams to assess operational risks

  • Provide recommendations to improve the security and resilience of AI-enabled systems

  • Support development of AI security strategies and testing methodologies



Required Experience




  • Experience with Python development and automated testing

  • Experience working in Linux environments and with containerization technologies such as Docker

  • Experience conducting security assessments, red-team activities, or vulnerability testing

  • Ability to evaluate AI/ML system behavior and identify security risks

  • Ability to communicate technical findings and risk assessments clearly

  • TS/SCI with Polygraph

  • Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of AI/ML experience, or 6+ years of related experience in lieu of a degree



Preferred Experience




  • Experience red-teaming large language models (LLMs)

  • Experience with AI/ML security testing and model evaluation

  • Experience applying AI security findings to intelligence or operational workflows

  • Knowledge of enterprise AI security tools and platforms

  • Familiarity with anomaly detection, data fusion, or advanced analytics techniques

  • Experience supporting DoD or Intelligence Community missions
