Job Description

Description of Position



The Senior Business Analyst: DreamBuilder is responsible for recruiting, coordinating, facilitating, and supporting entrepreneurs, students, and small business owners participating in the DreamBuilder program. This position serves as a key connector between participants, community partners, educational institutions, economic development organizations, and Small Business Development Center (SBDC) resources.

The position combines business advising, program facilitation, participant coaching, outreach, event coordination, and administrative management to help participants successfully complete the DreamBuilder curriculum and advance their educational, entrepreneurial, and business goals. The role requires strong relationship-building skills, community engagement experience, and the ability to assist clients with business planning, financial readiness, and business growth strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Recruitment & Outreach

  • Recruit entrepreneurs, aspiring business owners, students, and small business owners into DreamBuilder programs and cohorts.
  • Develop relationships with community organizations, chambers of commerce, economic development organizations, educational institutions, workforce agencies, nonprofit organizations, and local business groups.
  • Conduct presentations and information sessions to promote DreamBuilder and SBDC services.
  • Support outreach efforts targeting underserved, rural, veteran, women-owned, minority-owned, and student populations.
  • Assist with social media, email campaigns, and community engagement activities related to DreamBuilder.
  • Build and maintain partnerships that increase awareness and participation in DreamBuilder programs.
Program Coordination & Event Management
  • Coordinate and schedule DreamBuilder cohorts, workshops, special events, and community outreach activities.
  • Manage participant enrollment, onboarding, attendance tracking, and program completion records.
  • Coordinate facilities, speakers, facilitators, technology, and event logistics.
  • Order and maintain educational, promotional, and teaching materials necessary to support DreamBuilder classes, workshops, and events.
  • Ensure participants receive appropriate materials and resources throughout the program.
  • Maintain participant files and reporting documentation in accordance with funding requirements.
Senior Business Analyst Responsibilities
  • Conduct business assessments and client intake interviews.
  • Assist entrepreneurs and students in evaluating business opportunities and identifying growth strategies.
  • Provide guidance on business planning, financial projections, budgeting, cash flow management, and operational planning.
  • Help participants identify funding readiness gaps and prepare for conversations with lenders, investors, and capital providers.
  • Connect participants with appropriate SBDC advisors and specialized resources.
  • Monitor participant progress and assist clients in establishing measurable business and professional goals.
  • Track program outcomes and prepare reports demonstrating participant and program impact.
Facilitation & Coaching
  • Facilitate DreamBuilder classes, workshops, and learning sessions.
  • Provide one-on-one coaching, mentoring, and accountability support to participants.
  • Encourage participant engagement and successful completion of program milestones.
  • Support participants in developing business plans, action plans, and growth strategies.
  • Foster an inclusive, supportive, and entrepreneurial learning environment.
Compliance & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate participant and program records within SBDC systems.
  • Ensure compliance with all DreamBuilder, Small Business Development Center (SBDC), Arizona Commerce Authority (ACA), Yavapai College, state, federal, and grant reporting requirements.
  • Monitor performance metrics and reporting deadlines.
  • Assist with grant reporting, outcome measurement, and program documentation.
  • Participate in team meetings, training programs, and professional development activities.


Minimum Expectations & Requirements


Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Entrepreneurship, Economic Development, Marketing, Education, Public Administration, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.

Experience:
  • Experience working with entrepreneurs, students, small businesses, workforce development programs, educational institutions, or community organizations.
  • Experience collaborating with economic development officers, workforce development organizations, chambers of commerce, municipalities, tribal communities, state agencies, or other business-support organizations.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong public speaking, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
  • Experience with business planning, financial analysis, business consulting, or entrepreneurial support services.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and event coordination skills.
  • Experience coordinating workshops, training programs, or community events.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database/CRM systems.


Preferred Skills & Abilities


Experience:

  • Experience facilitating adult learning, entrepreneurship, or business training programs.
  • Experience in economic development, entrepreneurship support, small business assistance programs, or community development initiatives.
  • Experience working with grant-funded programs and performance reporting requirements.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Knowledge of startup development, business financing, capital access programs, and small business operations.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Familiarity with Arizona Commerce Authority programs, SBDC operations, and economic development ecosystems.
