Starting Salary: $16.30$17.83 (depending on experience)

This is a Safety Sensitive Position.

About this Position

The Senior Center Program Coordinator helps develop, implement, direct, supervise, and participate in quality programs, activities, and events for senior citizens at the Edmond Senior Center. Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 12 to 18 months of related experience and/or training
    • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Valid Oklahoma Driver's License and a driving record acceptable to the City's insurance carrier

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee the daily operation of assigned activities, programs, and events
  • Help research, develop, and implement activities, programs, events, and services
  • Work with the Manager of the Senior Center to plan and schedule programs/events
  • Operate multiple computer software programs including recreation management software
  • Assist with preparing advertising and marketing materials
  • Greet newcomers, conduct tours, answer questions, and help patrons
  • Develop and maintain a volunteer program
  • Drive the Senior Center's vehicle for various programs/events
  • Obtain current First Aid and CPR training within ninety (90) days
  • Obtain a Fitness Training Certification and/or a Food Handlers Certification within six (6) months
  • Attend the vehicle accident prevention course

Necessary Skills

  • Ability to meet the required physical standards for this position
  • Ability to pass extensive background process and pre-employment drug and audio screenings
