What’s unique about this role?

The Senior Director, Review Management is responsible for driving solution execution, client success & retention, and growth of AI/advanced analytics-enabled review offerings through leadership of the Review Management team within the Review & Advanced Analytics team. This dynamic leader develops and guides strategic goals, financial performance, organizational development, and operational excellence of Managed Review and is devoted to the design and implementation of innovative, analytics-driven workflows that reduce the volume, time, and costs associated with linear review conducted by Lighthouse (via preferred partners) while maintaining or improving overall review quality and ROI. The mandate of the role is, along with other R2A leaders, to position Lighthouse as the leading provider of AI/analytics-driven review in the eDiscovery industry through the continuous adoption of best-in-class technologies and innovative workflows that reduce the need for eyes-on attorney review.


What will this person do?

  • Creates strategic vision, drives product definition, and develops execution plan for Managed Review offerings, and is accountable for the performance and results of Managed Review teams
  • Is Lighthouse’s internal and external voice for Managed Review
  • Provides strategic leadership to Managed Review teams, and creates an organizational strategy for successful implementation of enterprise-level work and scalable growth
  • Owns relationship with linear review providers in all areas, including discussions and negotiations related to pricing, capacity, training, performance (expectations, escalations, and remediation strategies), QBRs, and generation of new services
  • Works across organization to help establish and maintain a high-growth pipeline of Managed Review opportunities and engagements to deliver advanced value to new and existing Lighthouse clients
  • Ensures effective collaboration with Sales, Marketing, and all Service Delivery departments to drive success for our clients via adoption of Managed Review offerings 
  • Develops and successfully implements plan to establish continuous innovation and improvement within Managed Review teams to deliver market-leading value, results, and services 
  • Is key stakeholder and input driver for Product Development as they provide differentiated, world-class technology to deliver Managed Review solutions
  • Establishes Lighthouse as a trusted advisor to our clients through regular and reliable communication as well as creative problem solving and solution design
  • Serves as internal and external subject matter expert related to technology-enabled and AI/analytics-driven linear review workflows
  • Monitors Managed Review projects to establish priorities and ensure all client objectives are met 
  • Assists in ongoing assessment of revenue and service metrics of Managed Review team
  • Creates processes to establish workflows and best practices for Managed Review departments
  • Continues to build and retain a high-performing team through strong leadership, personnel management, and professional development opportunities
  • Provides vision, leadership, direction and coaching to ensure continuous and successful employee development 
  • Develops and maintains departmental processes and recommendations on talent, capacity, and tools needed to support service delivery and enable scalable growth 
  • Leads departmental managers in the provision of 1:1's, mid-year and annual performance reviews, reporting, administration, training and mentoring, and providing management feedback to leadership team


Management duties include supervision of exempt and/or non-exempt staff. This includes, but is not limited to, conducting performance evaluations and improvement plans, approving paid time-off (PTO), assigning or delegating work, providing on-the-job training, giving guidance to staff, taking disciplinary action, and interviewing candidates for open positions.

  • 10+ years leading teams responsible for managed review projects in the context of early case assessment, complex litigation, arbitration, and internal and governmental investigations
  • Outstanding track record of developing review processes, workflows, and programs adopting data analytics and technology-assisted review to optimize linear review
  • Demonstrated expertise, comfort, and facility with understanding and explaining technical concepts and issues common to eDiscovery, such as technology-assisted review, machine learning, corpus analysis, email threading, and other data analytics
  • Experience in leading client facing, consultative professional service engagements is required
  • Success in nurturing and growing corporate client relationships is required
  • JD required, consulting or data science experience preferred
  • Demonstrated experience managing and motivating multiple teams to deliver outstanding performance, with high morale and low attrition
  • Extensive experience designing and implementing complex managed review workflows accelerated and optimized by advanced analytics technologies (e.g., Relativity Analytics, Brainspace, Matter Analytics, Blackout, etc.)
  • Partner development, including deal negotiation, metric establishment and monitoring, billing, etc.
  • Sophisticated understanding of unit economics, pricing, and profitability
  • Effective at driving projects to completion in collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Fluency with solution delivery to both enterprise clients and outside counsel
  • Multi-geography delivery, with teams operating cross border
  • Ability to manage changing and conflicting internal and client priorities
  • Detail oriented with the ability to keep focus on the broader project scope and initiatives contemporaneously with company or segment-wide needs
  • Ability to communicate in multiple forums and with stakeholders including project team, management, client, and sales prospects
  • Strong analytical, organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills


Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Duties are performed in a typical office environment while at a desk or computer table.
  • Duties require the ability to use a computer, communicate over the telephone, and read printed material, in a quiet and professional setting.
  • Duties may require being on call periodically and working outside normal working hours (evenings and weekends).

The salary range for this position may be tailored to be lower or higher in different talent markets.
