Job Description

Hello potential future Oatly employee. It’s us, the original oatmilk company that started in Sweden back 25 or so years ago and has since expanded to the U.S. where we’ve continued growing at a rate such that we need more brilliant minds to come work with us to keep the momentum going and the oatmilk flowing.

Sustainability, health, and transparency are the core values that guide everything we do. Basically, we exist to help people live a healthier life without recklessly taxing the planet’s resources in the process, and to change the food system for the better. We drive that change through the power of oats and through a significant reduction in cow’s milk consumption. If any of this resonates with you, then maybe you’d like to work for Oatly, too. Now onto the formal stuff.

The Oatly Department of Mind Control (ODMC) is seeking an Sr. Event Producer to join our Experiential Team in North America.

If you’re passionate about turning ideas into tangible experiences and thrive in a dynamic environment, this role offers the perfect blend of creativity, logistics, and hands-on work. As an Event Producer, you’re the go-to person for turning event concepts into reality. Your primary focus will be on the physical build, logistics, and production aspects for trade shows, sampling activities and other brand activations.

It will also require that you travel approximately 50 days, domestically, a year with most of the travels including the weekend (when most of our events take place).

Due to business needs, qualified candidates must reside in NYC or NYC Metro area.

Here are the things we want to hire you to do:

  • Lead end-to-end event strategy, aligning with brand and creative goals.

  • Manage large scale budgets, negotiate with suppliers and ensure accurate inventory tracking.

  • Serve as the key contact for agencies and exhibitor houses, providing updates and executional milestones.

  • Identify new areas for opportunities, within cross-functional teams, where the brand can show with purpose, distinction and showcase best in class activations.

  • Lead development and tracking of long & short-term plans against each project.

  • Maintain a keen eye on aesthetics and functionality during the physical build, ensuring everything aligns with the overall plan.

  • Lead identification, hiring, and training of any on-site support, when necessary. (local Brand Ambassadors, Mixologists, or other professional needs).

  • Logistical planning and onsite support for other areas outside of trade-specific: mobile touring, pop-ups, HQ support, and other experiential needs that arise.

  • Collaborate with event management, addressing potential problems as they arise.

  • Manage individual budgets while aligning with the manager to stay within targets.

  • Serve as a point of contact for teams when multiple individuals are involved in a project. Ensuring synergy, collaboration & connectivity

  • Ability to measure project performance to identify areas for improvement

  • Travel required for the set-up, execution, and dismantling of identified events (travel dependent upon trade season ~30%)

Here are the things we think you need:

  • At least 5+ years of documented experience working within the trade industry, or other event executional roles, where you gained practical knowledge of event logistics and physical build.

  • Ability to source cultural partners and/or vendors to identify unique, can-not-miss opportunities

  • Ability to seamlessly transition from office planning to on-site execution.

  • Print production knowledge: You will be in charge of ordering marketing material, signage, merch, and other event assets

  • Working knowledge of Monday, Bynder, and Google Suite is a plus.

  • Experience in working within CPG, understanding organizational structure and connectivity of activations to support broader business initiatives.

And here’s another list of qualities we think make a good Oatly team member:

  • You feel connected to our mission of encouraging health, sustainability, and transparency

  • You are a self-starter who doesn’t need direct supervision to motivate you for success – we believe strongly in building a culture of individual accountability and ownership and need partners that can embrace that mentality

  • You are ready to make your mark in a smaller, growing brand leveraging your experience to deliver amazing results and build an outstanding company

  • You have an entrepreneurial spirit in that you’re comfortable with ambiguity and are energized by the process of building something lasting from the ground up

  • You enjoy sharing your quirkiness and talents with your coworkers

Another bulleted list felt a bit too…bullet-y. So we wrote this long, awkward sentence to let you know all the ways we sweeten the deal when you work with us, like flexible vacation (take it when you need it), really great benefits (yes, pet insurance is in there), paid volunteer days off throughout the year (doing good is fun), free six packs of...(drumroll)…oatmilk, and you’ll also get genuinely great coworkers who are rooting for each other and the company to thrive. Oh, one more short but very important sentence: We are nimble and agile (not chaotic) in how we work, and we’re grounded in a long company history dating way back to the last century.
