ABOUT THE ROLE SYLUX is seeking a Senior Finance and Accounting Manager to join our global team in Farmington Hills, Michigan. This role will support the financial operations of a growing international organization, with responsibility for accounting activities, financial reporting, planning support, and operational finance analysis.
Reporting to the CFO, the Senior Finance and Accounting Manager will partner with operations, engineering, and leadership teams across North America, Europe, and Asia to develop financial assumptions, support recurring business reviews, and ensure compliance with company accounting policies, internal controls, and reporting requirements.
Major responsibilities:
· Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger activity, accounts payable, payroll coordination, accruals, reconciliations, and expense management.
· Lead month-end and year-end close activities to ensure timely, accurate financial reporting.
· Manage cash flow visibility, vendor payment activity, and operational spending controls.
· Support annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long-range financial planning.
· Monitor departmental spending and identify budget risks, opportunities, and variance drivers.
· Analyze operating performance, spending trends, and key financial metrics to support business decisions.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
· 5+ years of experience in accounting, controlling, FP&A, or operational finance.
· Strong understanding of month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
· Advanced Excel and analytical skills.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across functions and cultures.
· Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Experience supporting manufacturing, automotive, industrial, or technology operations.
· Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools; SAP or IFS experience is a plus.
· Exposure to US GAAP or IFRS reporting environments.
