Senior Financial Analyst
The Senior Financial Analyst is a new position within the CPC Finance team that will work closely with the CFO, Controller, and operational leaders to support financial and revenue cycle performance. This role focuses on building and improving data-driven financial and operational insights, supporting month-end close, recurring reporting, and strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, proactive, and skilled at translating complex datasets into actionable insights.
The role emphasizes revenue cycle analytics, financial reporting, and development of scalable reporting solutions, with the opportunity to evaluate and implement automation and emerging analytical tools, including AI where appropriate.
Key Responsibilities:
Essential Functions
Data & Analytics
- Extract, transform, and analyze data from multiple systems to support financial and operational analysis
- Build and maintain scalable data models and reporting tools, primarily using Excel and BI platforms
- Design and maintain dashboards focused on financial performance and revenue cycle metrics
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and clear documentation across reporting processes
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Support month-end close processes, including preparation of recurring reports and variance analysis
- Develop and maintain standardized financial and operational dashboards
- Perform ad hoc analyses to support leadership decision-making
- Investigate drivers of financial performance, identifying trends, anomalies, and root causes
Revenue Cycle & Patient Accounts
- Perform detailed analyses related to patient accounts, collections, adjustments, and revenue recognition
- Support reconciliations between patient accounting systems, general ledger, and cash activity
- Identify and explain drivers of revenue cycle variances, including denials, payer performance, and process inefficiencies
- Participate in revenue cycle improvement initiatives and data validation efforts
Collaboration & Process Improvement
- Partner with accounting, revenue cycle, operations, IT, and clinical teams to improve data integrity and reporting efficiency
- Translate complex analyses into clear, actionable insights for leadership
- Identify opportunities to automate reporting and reduce manual processes
- Evaluate and support implementation of new tools and technologies that enhance reporting and analysis capabilities
Technical Skills
Required
- Advanced Excel skills (Power Pivot, Power Query, complex formulas, data modeling)
- Experience with financial reporting, variance analysis, and data interpretation
- Experience with BI tools (Power BI or similar)
Preferred
- SQL for data extraction and analysis
- Python for automation or data analysis
- Exposure to AI/ML tools and interest in applying them
- Familiarity with healthcare billing, patient accounting systems, or revenue cycle data structures

Requirements
Qualifications for Success:
Education, License/Certification, and Experience Requirements
Education & Knowledge
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics, or related field required
- Strong understanding of financial statements, reconciliations, and analytical methodologies
- Foundational knowledge of healthcare finance and revenue cycle concepts preferred
- Demonstrated proficiency in at least one of SQL, Python, or BI tools required; experience in all preferred but not expected
Experience
- 3-6 years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, analytics, or related field (flexible based on technical skillset)
- Experience in healthcare finance, hospital systems, or physician group operations strongly preferred
