We are advancing master data management, governance, and data quality processes to ensure enterprise data is complete, valid, and trusted across the organization.  

Our team partners across business and IT to embed scalable data governance practices into how data is created, managed, and used to drive decisions. 

 

Job Summary 

The Senior IT Data Analyst (Data Governance) reports directly to the Staff IT Product Manager and is a hands-on contributor responsible for executing and advancing Tyson Foods’ enterprise data governance capabilities. This role drives impact through strong execution, stakeholder enablement, and the ability to identify patterns in data governance challenges and recommend improvements to processes, standards, and tools. 

The position partners closely with data stewards, analytics teams, and technical stakeholders to ensure enterprise data is properly governed, understood, and trusted. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Execute data governance activities including cataloging, classification, and metadata enrichment 

  • Partner with data stewards to drive adoption of governance standards and improve stewardship consistency 

  • Investigate data quality issues, governance gaps, and process breakdowns 

  • Identify recurring patterns and translate findings into actionable improvements 

  • Contribute to the evolution of governance workflows, controls, and standards 

  • Support and enhance the use of governance platforms (e.g., Collibra) 

  • Provide informal mentorship and guidance to junior analysts 

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to improve data quality, usability, and trust 

 

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, or related field 

  • 3+ years of experience in data governance, analytics, or related roles 

  • Ability to investigate issues and connect root cause to process or system improvements 

  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical requirements 

  • Understanding of software development lifecycles and related change management 

  • Experience with cross-functional stakeholder engagement 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience supporting enterprise data governance programs 

  • Familiarity with analytics data environments and reporting platforms 

  • Experience with workflow or process improvement initiatives 

  • Experience working with data catalogs, business glossaries, or governance platforms (Collibra preferred) 

  • Strong data literacy with focus on data quality and standards
