POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Janitorial Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing cleaning schedules and protocols in a manufacturing environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. This role involves conducting facility inspections, managing cleaning supplies and equipment, and serves as lead for a janitorial team. Ensures adherence to safety and environmental standards, leads special and advanced custodial services, cleaning projects, and maintains accurate records. Additionally, provides training, support, and performance guidance and feedback to staff, and execute preventive maintenance tasks as needed.

 

Essential Job Functions

·         Develop and implement cleaning schedules and protocols tailored to the manufacturing environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

·         Conduct regular inspections of facilities to assess cleanliness and address any deficiencies, maintaining a checklist to ensure all tasks are completed effectively.

·         Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring that resources are stocked and maintained properly.

·         Serves as lead and trains a team of janitorial staff,

·         Ensure all cleaning practices comply with company safety standards and environmental regulations, conducting training sessions as needed.

·         Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities, incidents, and inventory, providing regular reports to management.

·         Lead special and advanced cleaning projects, such as deep cleaning, floor maintenance, and equipment sanitization, as needed.

·         Execute scheduled preventive maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment, including lubricating, cleaning, and replacing parts as needed.

·         Work as a janitorial representative during FAA inspection and auditing of janitorial processes.

·         Serves as lead with the ability to guide and willingness to receive and share practical knowledge, train, cross-train and mentor teammates within career path to perform necessary job functions and requirements in order to attain satisfactory levels of performance and production effectivity.  Provides support, along with performance guidance and feedback to ensure a high level of service.

·         Adhere, maintain, assist and train teammates within career path to all departmental compliance requirements such as Safety, Environmental Protection, FOD and Tool Control, 5S and other assigned programs.

·         Perform audits of areas within the department as required to maintain compliance with all FAA and Piper operational requirements. Initiate related operational process or procedural corrective action, or request additional assistance from leadership or other support teams where necessary.

·         Perform duties of lower graded position within Career Path

Career Path Minimum Position Qualifications

 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent, or successful completion of a verifiable occupational training program; or equivalent combination of education and experience in lieu of high school diploma

 

·         Ability to operate cleaning equipment and tools effectively and safely

·         Knowledge and skillful use of cleaning chemicals, supplies, tools, and safety practices.

·         Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including proper fit and use of respirators as required

·         Ability to understand and follow all safety procedures and Safety Data Sheet requirements

·         Ability to work scheduled shift and hours, including overtime

·         Ability to work with minimal supervision

 

o    Janitorial Specialist I:

§  Previous experience in a janitorial or custodial role preferred

o    Janitorial Specialist II:

§  Previous experience in an industrial janitorial or custodial role

§  Experience operating and maintaining commercial custodial cleaning equipment

o    Senior Janitorial Specialist:

§  Previous experience in an industrial janitorial or custodial role, with at least 2 years in a team leader position preferred

§  Experience guiding and executing preventive maintenance tasks

§  Experience operating and maintaining commercial custodial equipment

 

Physical Demands

·         Demonstrates physical and functional ability to perform full anatomical range of motion to accomplish tasks. Evidence of visual and aural acuity and finger and hand dexterity to operate job specific equipment. Can withstand long periods of sitting, standing and/or constant walking. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.  Other physical requirements include the ability to bend, kneel, crouch, twist, balance and reach above, out, and below.

Working Conditions

·         Environmental Demands and Exposure to Hazards:Works primarily inside and may occasionally work outdoors. May be exposed to odors, chemical agents, dust, fumes, gases, sharp objects, hazardous or moving equipment, wet slippery floors, and extremes in temperature and humidity. 

·         Interacts regularly with various staff and employees, and occasionally with vendors, suppliers, community members and regulatory agency representatives.
