About the Company
Paleovalley and Wild Pastures were born from a simple but radical idea: real food can heal — people, animals, and the planet. When Paleovalley co-founders Autumn and Chas Smith saw how industrialized food was affecting human health and the health of the land, they refused to play along. Autumn’s own journey of healing through nutrient-dense foods lit a fire that became Paleovalley. From there, the mission grew roots, sprouted wings, and eventually expanded into Wild Pastures to bring regeneratively raised meats directly to families nationwide.
Today, Paleovalley crafts deeply nourishing snacks and supplements made with organic ingredients and honorable sourcing. Wild Pastures connects small American farmers practicing regenerative agriculture with customers who believe better food is worth fighting for. Every product, every partnership, and every decision is guided by a commitment to real ingredients, regenerative practices, and the belief that health is built from the soil up.
We’re a team of grounded doers, curious thinkers, bold builders, and warm humans who like to laugh while doing meaningful work. We're growing quickly, fueled by purpose and a shared desire to repair the food system one thoughtful choice at a time. If you feel energized by impact, drawn to mission, and ready to join a company rewriting the future of food, we’d love to meet you!
About the Opportunity
At Paleovalley, we believe our relationship with a customer doesn't end after their first purchase - it's just getting started. Every interaction that follows, from onboarding and education to replenishment, subscriptions, loyalty, and winback, is an opportunity to build trust, strengthen long-term relationships, and help people get the most from their health journey.
We're looking for a Senior Manager, Retention Marketing to own and continuously evolve those experiences. Partnering closely with our VP of Retention & Lifecycle Marketing, you'll translate department priorities into customer journeys, lifecycle automations, testing strategies, and measurable business results. While our VP sets the overall vision and strategic direction for the department, you'll have significant ownership in determining how that strategy comes to life, independently identifying opportunities, solving problems, making recommendations, and building exceptional customer experiences that strengthen loyalty and customer lifetime value.
You'll have broad ownership over day-to-day decisions related to customer journey architecture, lifecycle automations, testing priorities, and optimization initiatives, partnering closely with the VP on long-term strategic direction and department priorities. This is a highly autonomous, hands-on role for someone who enjoys equal parts strategic thinking, execution, data analysis, and continuous improvement. If you love understanding customer behavior, building sophisticated lifecycle programs in Klaviyo, and creating experiences that genuinely help customers succeed, you'll thrive here.
What You’ll Do

Customer Journey Strategy & Architecture

Data, Testing & Optimization
- Use customer data, behavioral insights, and business performance to identify opportunities that improve both the customer experience and business outcomes.
- Develop and execute testing strategies across messaging, offers, timing, creative, segmentation, personalization, and customer journeys.
- Analyze results, translate insights into actionable recommendations, and foster a culture of continuous experimentation and optimization.
Cross-Functional Partnership & Influence
- Partner closely with Creative, Brand, Growth Marketing, Ecommerce, Customer Experience, Marketing Analytics, Product Marketing, Technology, and the Lifecycle Marketing Manager to deliver seamless customer experiences.

- Serve as the organization's subject matter expert in retention marketing, lifecycle automation, and customer journey optimization.
Measurement & Continuous Improvement
- Own and maintain the retention marketing dashboard, proactively monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on key lifecycle metrics, including customer lifetime value (LTV), repeat purchase behavior, subscription health, lifecycle revenue, flow performance, customer engagement, and other key retention KPIs.
- Translate customer, campaign, and business performance data into actionable insights, independently identifying opportunities, making recommendations, and driving optimization initiatives that improve customer experience and business results.
- Continuously evaluate customer journeys, automations, campaigns, testing results, and operational processes to identify smarter, more effective ways to engage customers and evolve Paleovalley's retention program.
