Senior Marketing Manager

Location: Hillsborough, NC (Hybrid – 3 Days In-Office Required)

Position Type: Contract (4-6 Months)

 

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Contract Senior Marketing Manager to join the Sports Endeavors team. Reporting directly to the Chief Marketing Officer, you will take ownership of high-priority projects and provide the critical bandwidth needed to drive our most important initiatives.

In this role, you will be asked to be a team player, stretching across high-level strategy and "in the weeds" execution. If you understand the soccer retail landscape and thrive in fast-paced environments where no task is too big or too small, we want to hear from you.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Project Execution: Lead the planning and tactical rollout of both online and experiential marketing initiatives tied to major soccer moments this year.
  • Business Growth: Collaborate with the marketing team to develop strategies and integrated marketing plans that solidify our position as the premier destination for Everything Soccer.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Act as a bridge between creative, digital, sales and merchandising teams to ensure all projects are delivered on time, on brand and on budget.
  • Operational Support: Provide bandwidth where needed to marketing leadership to allow the core team to remain focused on daily operations.

 

Qualifications

  • Experience: 7+ years of marketing experience, ideally within the sports retail industry. Experience with soccer-specific marketing is a massive plus and strong knowledge of the game is required.
  • Proven Execution: A track record of managing event activations.
  • Analytical & Creative: Ability to analyze data, as well as balance data-driven decision-making with creative storytelling that resonates with the soccer community.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable jumping into a project mid-stream and providing immediate value.
  • Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to manage expectations across various internal departments.
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Sports Management, or a related field. MBA is a plus.
 

Work Environment & Requirements

  • Hybrid Schedule: This role requires a minimum of 3 days per week in our Hillsborough, NC office to ensure seamless collaboration with our creative and merchandising hubs.
  • Timeline: This is a fixed-term contract lasting between 4 to 6 months, depending on project needs and performance.
  • Travel: Must hold a valid driver’s license and be comfortable with domestic and international travel (estimated 15%+).
