Senior Regulatory & Compliance Accountant

Location, St. Cloud, MN

Full-Time, works in-office—not remote

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Regulatory & Compliance Accountant to lead complex accounting, tax, and treasury functions across multiple domestic and international entities. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and GAAP adherence, while supporting strategic decision-making through financial analysis and insights.

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, analytical professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can manage multiple priorities while working independently and cross-functionally.

 

Key Responsibilities

Tax & Regulatory Compliance

  • Prepare, review, and support federal, state, and international tax filings (U.S., Puerto Rico, Canada, Germany)
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax laws, and regulatory reporting requirements
  • Partner with external auditors, tax advisors, and internal stakeholders
  • Complete and file reports with government agencies (e.g., U.S. Census Bureau, state/provincial filings)

Fixed Asset Accounting

  • Oversee full lifecycle of assets including capitalization, depreciation, and disposal
  • Maintain accurate asset records and monthly fixed asset roll forwards
  • Support budgeting and forecasting related to asset activity
  • Coordinate asset tracking across equipment, fleet, and aviation assets

Treasury & Cash Management

  • Manage cash reconciliations, daily balances, and liquidity
  • Prepare and maintain consolidated cash flow reporting
  • Monitor and optimize company cash positions

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Track investment activity and prepare journal entries and performance reports
  • Convert international financials into U.S. GAAP for consolidation
  • Provide financial insights to support business decisions and strategy

International Accounting

  • Support accounting operations for Puerto Rico and Germany offices
  • Oversee tax filings, payroll coordination, and audit support
  • Manage foreign currency translation and reporting

Process Improvement & Strategy

  • Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities
  • Drive efficiencies in regulatory reporting and asset accounting
  • Advise leadership on financial and tax implications of business initiatives

 

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum of 5+ years of accounting, tax, or compliance experience

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong understanding of GAAP and tax accounting principles
  • Experience with multi-state and international accounting/compliance
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Compensation & Benefits

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $80,000 to $115,000. Base salary is determined by relevant experience, education, certifications, and geographic location, compared to others performing substantially similar work.
