Incumbents perform a variety of professional assignments involving research, analysis, planning, evaluation, and administrative duties; performs specialty assignments or acts in a lead or supervisory capacity over lower-level professional and support staff; and performs related work as required.
The current vacancies exists within the Department of Public Works and Planning, Department of Social Services, Probation Department, and the Department of Public Health. However, the eligible list established from this recruitment may be used to fill vacancies in other County departments as they occur.Fresno County is working together for a quality of life for all. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Possession of a bachelor's degree that is acceptable within the United States' accredited college or university system.
Substitution: Full-time, paid paraprofessional or technical work experience with the County of Fresno may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
Experience: Three (3) years of full-time, paid work experience equivalent to that gained as a Staff Analyst with the County of Fresno.Substitution: Possession of a master's degree that is acceptable within the United States' accredited college or university system may substitute for one (1) year of the required Staff Analyst experience.License: Possession of a valid Class "C" driver's license, or equivalent, may be required.Incumbents may be required to obtain and maintain Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Department of Justice (DOJ) clearance as a condition of employment.
As a condition of employment, some departments may require candidates to undergo and pass a background investigation and/or polygraph examination. These investigations include employment/credit histories, verification of education, arrest/criminal records, drug/alcohol use, and personal conduct. SELECTION PROCESS:
Pursuant to Fresno County Personnel Rule 4 - Selection Process, applicants may be required to complete an examination process and successful candidates will be placed on an employment list effective for a minimum of 3 months and certified in final rank order as vacancies occur.- Tentative Exam Dates: July 7 - 8
- Tentative Interview Date: July 21 - 23
- Additional interviews, including those with other departments, will be scheduled as needed

- Individuals selected for extra-help appointment may be transitioned to a permanently allocated position at a later date as authorized by the Fresno County Personnel Rules.
